MD, FRCP (Lon), FRCPI, DCH, MBA Corporate - CEO/ Chief Medical Officer and a board member of the American Mission Hospital Dr George Cheriyan is the Corporate -CEO/ Chief Medical Officer and a board member of the American Mission Hospital since May 2018. He has held the position of CEO and Chief Medical Officer of the American Mission Hospital since November 2009. AMH is a non-profit mission hospital, the first hospital established in the GCC in 1902. Dr Cheriyan moved into this position after a 30 year career as aNeonatologist. He trained inPediatrics andNeonatology at The Hospital for Sick Children Great Ormond Street, London and the Hospital for Sick Children Toronto, and practiced as a Consultant Neonatologist in London. He served as a Consultant Neonatologist at Saudi Aramco for 18 years and held several leadership positions including being the Head of Neonatology and the Chair of the Quality council of Saudi Aramco Healthcare a large and complex organisation He is a trained Improvement Advisor from the Institute of Healthcare Improvement in Cambridge, MA, and has been an adjunct member of the faculty, invited speaker at the National and International Patient safety and Quality Improvement forums. He is an Associate Clinical Professor at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. He holds a certificate in Healthcare Management from Harvard Business School and is an alumni of both the Harvard Business School and the Harvard Kennedy School for Government. He is an invited speaker on several international healthcare forums and received the C3 award on behalf of the American Mission Hospital for visionary leadership in 2018 at the C3 forum in New York.
