CEO TODAY MIDDLE EAST AWARDS 2020 30 Food & Bevereages Mutlaq AlZayed CEO of Kuwait Flour Mills And Bakeries Co. In 1985 Mutlaq AlZayed graduated from Concordia University Milwaukee USA with a Bachelor’s degree in Business & Administration, and in the following year, he began his career in the distribution section of Kuwait Bakeries Company. After seven months, he became Head of the department, then in 1987, he was promoted to Head of Marketing and Distribution, where he remained until 1991. During this period, Kuwait was attacked by Iraq – and fromAugust 1990 to February 1991, Mr AlZayed fulfilled the role of General Co-ordinator, whereby he was responsible for maintaining the continuity of food security for the people of Kuwait and recruiting citizens for volunteer jobs to serve the country. From 1991 to 2005, he supervised the sales department, following which he was promoted to the position of Deputy Managing Director.
