CEO TODAY MIDDLE EAST AWARDS 2020 Banking 18 Khalid Al Kayed CEO of Bank Nizwa As the CEO of Bank Nizwa, Khalid Al Kayed is responsible for driving overall business growth and strategies and ensures the delivery of long-term value for shareholders, customers, employees and all other stakeholders. He oversees all aspects of the bank’s business segments in line with Islamic Finance principles including its progressive Shari’a-compliant portfolio of products and services. A financial industry veteran with over 25 years under his belt, Al Kayed held various posts in a host of well- respected financial institutions prior to joining Bank Nizwa, including Deputy Chief Executive Officer & Chief Financial Officer at Jordan Dubai Islamic Bank and Chief Financial Officer at Standard Chartered Bank Jordan. His expertise ranges from banking management, financial control, accounting, risk management, and asset-liability among other fields. Al Kayed holds an MSc degree in International Accounting and Finance from the University of Liverpool in the UK and is alumni of Columbia Business School. He also holds Certified Management Account (CMA) and Certified Financial Manager (CFM) designations.
