Oman’s Vision 2040 strategy seeks to propel the Sultanate into the ranks of the world’s most ‘developed nations’ and its key goal is to make the business environment attractive to foreign investment. Oman has a great deal of potential to diversify. The oil and gas sector will have price challenges in the future and hence diversification is considered a strategic objective and key to economic development in the years ahead. The focus is on key sectors namely tourism, manufacturing, logistics, fisheries and education and significant growth has been seen in these sectors since the last few years. MHD LLC is committed to the strategies and plans set by the government and In line with the 2040 vision, MHD LLC aims to move beyond niche segments. They have ventured into Logistics, Aviation and Education as part of their diversification strategy and besides these sectors they have their focus on the future growth sectors such as electric car industry and solar power. Besides being Chairperson of her family business, Mrs. Areej is a representative at the boards of prominent organizations in Oman such as Areej Vegetable Oils & Derivatives SAOC, Duqm United Logistics, Muscat University, Unicef Leadership Circle, Sharakah (Working Team of Partnership between the Public and Private Sectors at the Diwan of Royal Court) and Dar Al Atta. Mrs. Areej’s achievements are an inspiration to the women who want to scale the heights of success. However, being a female businesswoman has also had her juggling between her business and family as being a woman entrepreneur and business leader is far from easy.
