25 www.ceotodaymagazine.com CEO Today Middle East Awards 2018 ISRAEL NIR STERN CEO of Cellcom FIRM PROFILE Cellcom Israel Ltd., established in 1994, is the largest Israeli cellular provider; Cellcom Israel provides its approximately 2.967million subscribers (as at December 31, 2014) with a broad range of value added services including cellular and landline telephony, roaming services for tourists in Israel and for its subscribers abroad and additional services in the areas of music, video, mobile office etc., based on Cellcom Israel’s technologically advanced infrastructure. In addition, at the end of 2014, the Company launched television services over the internet (Over the top TV or OTT TV). ABOUT NIR STERN Nir Stern has served as the CEO of Cellcom since January 1, 2012. From 2010 to 2011, he served as CEO of Netvision Ltd. (which was recently merged into a wholly-owned subsidiary of Cellcom.) From 2008 to 2010 he served as Deputy CEO of Pelephone Communications Ltd. or Pelephone, an Israeli cellular operator and one of Cellcom’s competitors, and from 2002 to 2008 as Pelephone’s VP Marketing. From 2001 to 2002 he served as VP of Marketing and Sales of Barak 013 Ltd., or Barak, an international operator (which later merged into NetVision) and from 1999 to 2001, as the manager of Barak’s marketing department. From 1994 to 1999 Mr. Stern served as Head of Private Marketing at Cellcom.
